Prepping your CSV imports

Get your formatting right before your data enters the CRM

The absolute easiest way to maintain a clean database is to format your data properly before it ever touches Allyos. Taking a couple of minutes to clean up your spreadsheet prevents messy formatting from breaking your fields or creating headaches down the line. Use this quick checklist before you upload any CSV.

1Isolate your headers
Make sure the very first row of your spreadsheet contains clear, simple headers (like First Name, Last Name, Email, Company). Remove any blank rows or generic titles above your header line.
2Separate first and last names
Allyos works best when names are distinct. If your spreadsheet has a single column for Full Name, try splitting it into separate First Name and Last Name columns before importing for cleaner sorting.
3Check your dates
Ensure all date columns (like contract start dates or birthdays) follow a consistent format throughout the spreadsheet (e.g., YYYY-MM-DD) so Allyos can map them directly into Date columns without errors.
4Scan for empty essentials
Sort your spreadsheet by the key identifier column (usually Email) to quickly find and fix any records that are missing essential contact details before the import begins.

Next: connect the tools you already use so your data stays up to date on its own.
